Baltic Runabout is a team of passionate and experienced craftsmen - boatbuilders - wood and composite experts who love innovating, combining beautiful wood with modern materials like carbon fibre, epoxy, fibreglass and different cores. Our hulls look classic and timeless, but beneath the surface there is sophisticated technology that makes the boat significantly superior to the old timers. In durability, ease of maintenance, ride quality, performance figures and economy.

As the founder of Baltic Runabout, I was certain I'd be building things in my life, even in early childhood, when I was messing around with my grandfather's planes and chisels in the workshop. As a teen I became mesmerised by the classic runabouts of mid 20th century and it became clear that I needed to build a wooden motorboat. After years of planning, while still in high school, I started to build one using the random pieces of wood I could find in the barn at my parent's country house. It was a long process, but really highlighted what I enjoyed in life and what my passion was.
I studied business and management in college while still working on my wooden speedboat in the spare time. After graduation, I got a chance to apply for a scholarship from the Baltic American Freedom Foundation and thanks to that I had the wonderful opportunity to be apprenticed by one of the world's leading wooden boat building companies - Brooklin Boat Yard - in Brooklin, Maine. At that time BBY had been building boats for 60 years already and were one of the pioneers in wood/epoxy construction and combining wood with composites for their super light and fast racing yachts that would often times come in first in regattas. BBY started a whole sailboat racing class called the Spirit of Tradition, which means, classic looks, modern underbody and construction methods.

This invaluable experience was a complete paradigm shift and a substantial foundation for my future trajectory in creating powerboats that look gorgeous but are technologically very advanced. Nowadays my company is expanding its range of semi - custom boats, with a few new exciting models on the drawing board. We look forward to building yours!
